The Turtle's Journey
The little turtle swam at night in a dark and angry sea.
He was cold and he was tired; there were places he'd rather be.
He looked down into waters so black that light would never dive
but above him star-lit heavens showed his way, his path to life.
He had no time to stop and think, no time to stop and rest;
he was on his life's true journey, he was on his pilgrim's quest.
His loving heart kept him going to a land he'd never seen;
a wondrous place that came to him in a blissful, golden dream;
a garden where small white flowers grew ...
She said, "Save the moonlight that fills your heart and keep it for eternity;
smile when you think of the day and the night you would return to me."
I sent a prayer into the wind and hoped that it would fly
across the land and into her hand on such a love-filled night.
I drew a breath and closed my eyes as peaceful slumber came
