This World Is Not Mine Poem by Arun Maji

This World Is Not Mine

Rating: 5.0

This world is not mine.

They promised light
But embraced darkness.
So dead dark is the world
Love cannot be seen.

No, I do not belong to them.
If you call them human
I am possibly something else.
It's ok
If you call me a lowly beast,
But darkness is not my world.

I love to cry
When I see hungry child.
I love to shout slogan
When I see wounded woman.
I love to fight
When someone erects wall between you and me.

And now
They want me to see this world being torn into pieces
Yet sing in joy?
O God, forgive me.
I cannot do this.
I cannot.

I must be a stranger to this world
This world is not mine.
