This World Of Ours Poem by James Howden

This World Of Ours

Rating: 5.0

If we could make this world of ours, a safe and happy place,
If only all the nations could lovingly embrace.
Devoid of greed and corruption, where love is joyously sung,
No ageless imperfections, if all the world and love were young.

No wars through arbitration, no battles for gods or lands,
No government transactions, that foray outrageous demands.
Where famine is starved of fruition, devoid of death and disease,
All ungodly atrocities, could all the world and love appease.

A harmonious interaction, of peace and global goodwill,
An Eden of healthy prosperity, we truly need to fulfil.
To put an end to destruction and sorrow, for love to grow and expand,
For a peaceful co-existence, can all the world and love command.

I'll certainly drink to that. We use our ingenuity and creativity to build cities and then bomb 'em all down, like mischievous children putting firecracker in ant hills. We're the most destructive species on earth and I think Mother-Father Nature is getting pretty fed up with us.
