Thorns Around His Horns Poem by Sara Douglas

Thorns Around His Horns

Rating: 5.0

There's a child in the window
And through it he can see the world
He wont waste strength to fold his hands
He knows that God is giving up
It's almost dawn and his dreams have gone
Leaving only nightmares in his head
He knows better than to sleep

No other choice
Dumb and blind
He waits in line
The devil on the cross

There's a man on his knees
There's a war in his mind
His brain against the morbid world
Its gonna get the best of him
Didn't he learn, didn't he know
Free thinking is danger by your own hand
He should know better than to care

No other choice
Dumb and blind
He waits in line
The devil on the cross

There's a hole in the ground
Father alongside son
They've taken everything
Drop where you are
There's no hope left to find
God burried the earth
It was already dead

Was there a choice
dumb and blind
we waited in line
The devil wont save us now

An unusual write Sara, but very well expressed and very interesting to find. Well woven together and a rich read. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
