those special days,
are lost,
to these days,
the cost
of growing up,
yet never letting go.
sitting under the sun,
sugar skin scented,
fizzy drink,
ice cream dreams
climbing trees to heaven,
digging holes to devon.
everybody seemed so happy
the summer of simplcity,
the winter of wonder,
slowly but so very surely,
fades away,
then one day,
responsibilty
is posted through
your door,
and with it
come a thousand bills,
woes, deaths, loves,
lies, truths, heatbreaks,
late nights, drunken fights,
tired eyes, endless wars,
policital propaganda,
o zone layer,
black bags, red bags,
recylcing repetition,
broken cars, endless
lights lost time,
street corner crime.
take away trash,
booze booze booze,
hats, hair shoes.
these days, all is a haze to me,
those days in sunny simplcity,
are what these days should be,
and as a poem this childlike utopia,
sounds so sweet,
but living in reggression,
aint such a treat
