Those Times Were Not Important-But They Were Good

You gave me such tsouris
I never knew such pain,
Around me you swirled like a torrent
As my heart throbbed again-
and again.
I wished that you weren't so charming
So I could remember to forget
my doom,
But every time I'd sleep and dreamt restlessly
Those dreams were never enough about you.
These days I still shiver when you smile
Though I'm far away-
and so are you,
For you I had given my best
(Ever hoping that you'd do the rest)
Aware that those days that have now passed-
are still true.
