Those who have compassion have a gift that is rare
For the sufferings of others they genuinely do care
Beyond the borders of the self they can see
And they are so special those with empathy
Those who have compassion are lucky indeed
To see that there's more to life than their own need
Compassionate people are quite a rare breed
In their lack of selfishness by example they lead
In a world where many see greed as okay
And where thousands are dying of hunger every day
And where self promotion is the in thing
And the praises of the egotistical the masses do sing
Those who have compassion we should celebrate
A more compassionate World they try to create.
