Though Boasting In Life Poem by Francis Duggan

Though Boasting In Life

Though boasting in life it may get you quite far
Leave it to others to say of how marvellous you are
Of your college degrees I did not ask to hear
Though of such you made known to me quite loud and clear
Your college degrees to me do not say
That as a person you are better than most others in every way
It only tells me you have college degrees
Like everyone else you do cough, fart and sneeze
But there are things of you that I would like to know
Are you one with compassion for others to show
Or are you one of those the self centred kind
Who to the needs of others seem totally blind?
And your college degrees to me do not say
That as a person you are good in every way.
