Though Highly Educated Poem by Francis Duggan

Though Highly Educated

Some quite well educated people of Nature so little does know
They even think that the blackbird is a species of crow
Though highly educated professionals of uni degrees
They will tell you knowledge of no financial value to them on the birds and the bees
Though highly educated the point they do miss
That even to their sort ignorance can be bliss
Nature's beauty around them they fail for to see
But then suppose it is each to their own as most would agree
It just goes to show that there is far more to knowledge than most does realize
That many who are well educated know little of Nature is not a surprise
And in the twenty first century this is disappointing indeed
As Nature of many more friends is in need
Ignorance can have a space even in the most enlightened mind
To the natural beauty around them many seem mentally blind.
