Though Some Wish For Death Poem by Francis Duggan

Though Some Wish For Death

Though some wish for death life's a wonderful thing
And for as long as one can one to it ought to cling
Though many to their unseen God in the Universe pray
Our last day of life on Planet Earth may well be our last day
Agnostic or Atheist call me what you may
But on what you believe in I find quite okay
As long as for your religious beliefs you do not harm others in any sort of way
Respect to you I for one will surely pay
Too often I've heard the words 'God on our side'
But for God and for Country too many have died
I long for a Human World of love and harmony
And live and let live sounds far better to me
Than such divisive words as 'us and they'
That the arrogant and ignorant use every day.
