Though You Have Not Poem by Francis Duggan

Though You Have Not

Rating: 5.0

Though you have not seen them for many a day
Do you often think of old friends far away
Some of them like you in the hometown did not stay
And some of them where the deceased are now lay

Do you often think of the great love of your life
The one who did become another man's wife
But true love as is said must be shared by two
And she loved the other man more than she loved you

Do you often think of your far off hometown
And the old streets that you often walked up and down
Where many looked on you as one of their own
Today there you would be one of the unknown

The fact is we are creatures of memory and fact never lie
And you will remember until the day you do die
The place where your life's journey for you began
Where you lived as a boy and grew into a man.

Do you often think of the great love of your life The one who did become another man's wife But true love as is said must be shared by two And she loved the other man more than she loved you.....outstanding conceptualization. A beautiful poem on memories has been hauntingly delineated. Thanks for sharing.10
