When patience gets strained
And pulled to it's limits,
Try to look at the good things
Being learned from within it.
It takes time to know
What our strengths really are
In letting our light shine
Like a small brilliant star.
In a moment of anguish
It may not seem like much
But years down the road
It will be a warm touch.
For the time that we spend
That will help others learn
Will leave a light from that knowledge
That will in their heart burn.
As the young turn to growups
All the lessons we taught
For them become wisdom
That will not be forgot.
It is then that we'll realize
All the value we gave
From the look in their eyes
To the smile on their face.
Once children, now young adults
They will come back and say
Thanks for all that you taught me
You have brightened my days.
A good start with a nice poem, Alan Harrell. You may like to read my poem, Love And Iust. Thank you.
Beautifully expressed and composed a topic so pertinent to parents and children. It is so important to let children know the good values by our own behavior. Thanks for sharing.
