Thoughts Of Pity Poem by Candace Johnson

Thoughts Of Pity

Rating: 1.5

When you walk by me you see many things

You see my tear ridden eyes, and the deep circles beneath them
You see my horrible hair, and wrinkled clothes

And then you silently give me pity

I do not want it
It is not important
It helps me none
I did not even ask for it

So next time you see that pitiful creature that might be me
Don't give her pity
give her an ear that's willing to listen
