Three Faces Poem by Randy McClave

Three Faces

They say when God created all races
God gave man three faces,
From which they will all be known
Whenever his faces are shown.
The first face man shows to the world
It is the one that is always unfurled,
It is the one that man has always worn
Ever since he was first born.
The second face he shows to his family and close friends
When he helps and works and lends,
It's the face that man does happily wear
Whenever he feels love and happiness and care.
The third face man never shows to anyone
Into the soul it is drawn,
He keeps it hidden like a scar
It is the truest reflection of who we are.
We wear it whenever no one else is around
When another direction we are bound,
Whenever we feel more than mean
That face is then seen.
God gave man three faces to always carry
No matter were we might tarry,
And no matter what friends or family or strangers might say
We choose the display.
