Three Chords Poem by Randy McClave

Three Chords

Give me three chords mister
Then tell me your story,
My fingers will then begin to blister
When I play you some glory.
I will surely play it in the correct key,
And for you, I will play it beautifully.

Give me three guitar tunes
Be it that of fact or of fiction,
You'll then love the way other croons
As I strum of a love or maybe of an addiction.
By just using the strings of three,
I promise I will play you an alluring melody.

Give me three guitar notes
And then I will be prepared to play,
It could be of your thoughts or other's quotes
From now or even from yesterday.
No theme would ever be wrong,
I just want to play you a song,

Give me three chords and the truth
And then I will begin to play,
I will be the forbidden fruit
While angels happily lay.
I am ready to strum those chords,
Either unto you, or unto Lords.

Give me the chords of three
All else you have already inspired,
I will then play you a harmony
From the movements you alone have sired.
So, what song shall I play y'all,
I'm ready to put you in awe,
