I'll always remember that day in may 1983
I was standing at the foot of dad's bed
And he turned his head and looked at me
Thats the day i heard dad say three little words to me
Them three little words brought tears to my eyes
And my hands started shaking My heart skip ah beat
and i almost fell to my knees
I thought that i hated dad but i never hated him at all
Dad never realize how much my heart ached or just how long
I waited to hear him say them three little words
that ment the world to me
Oh I; ll never forget that day in may 1983
It was a sad sad day but yet a very special one to me
because thats the day i heard dad say three little words to me
Then later on that evening dad passed away
Yes i'll always remember that special day in may 1983
Thats the day dad turned and looked at me and said
them three little words to me
I; ve been waiting for him to say
I Love You.
