Three Poets And One Parachute Poem by Shaun Cronick

Three Poets And One Parachute

Rating: 5.0

Three poets were aboard a doomed aircraft about to crash.
But there was still time to parachute to safety.
One of the poets was an Englishman.
The second was a Texan.
And the latter was a Mexican.
All were horrified at their predicament.
Three poets.
And one parachute.
Cruel and unforgiving mathematics.
However,
The Englishman being a brave Englishman said,
For God, the Queen and country and William Shakespeare.
And threw himself out of the aircraft.
The Texan poet then turned to the Mexican poet and said,
I wrote a poem called Remember The Alamo.
And threw the Mexican poet out.
