Thrill Seeker by: Leria Hawkins Poem by Leria Hawkins

Thrill Seeker by: Leria Hawkins

I waited so long to love you
To write you into my love songs
I've hungered for the poetry of your smile
The lyrics shining bright in your eyes
I've longed to keep your deepest secrets
Explore your scars, lick your wounds
To softly stroke your demons
To tame the wild soul inside of you
I did not come here looking for perfect
I've no interest in the watered-down
The dressed and polished stainless steel
The ordinary taste of vanilla
No, I came for your fire, your passions, your mysteries
Because I am made of the same
I am the hunter, the hunted, the prey
I am the wolf at the door, the slayer of dragons
I am not here for your pretty, or calm, or even rational
I am here for your wickedness, your desire
I am here for the danger lurking in your soul
