Through My Soul's Eye.. Poem by Sharon Smith

Through My Soul's Eye..

Rating: 5.0

My every thought, they are Yours to behold
Let not my best mind spill that which is unclean
Let not this fear cause it to offer forth
that which is only human..
lest it wound Your very Heart with its abhorrence..
a filthy rag to intrude on that which is Perfection.
Hear it not..I beg of You..Hear it not..
so as to wound not my very essence
with the thought that I may offend You
Wound me not this way..
lest I desire only to exist no more!
Oh but to die as every thought is below You.
Even those that are earthly fine..
hang their heads in shame..
happy themselves to exist no more.

Yet I see depth..I see width..Oh height
With my soul's eyes does it see..
Is it not too great for my soul to perceive..
that which is perfection..consume all..
all that is purposed..all that belongs did my soul embrace
Oh to melt into You
Unadorned with falsity my soul exposed and unprotected..
though not of earthly understanding
Exquisite, naked purity that lures the soul..
drenching one with ecstasy unperturbed
Oh simple soul will you not faint?
Can I not think to even draw breath?
Satiate!
This honey..nay..sweeter than honey..

this Nectar Divine
Am I to just dissolve?

I saw with my soul's eyes..eternity..
with my soul's eyes…Home.
