Through The Dunes Poem by Michael Walkerjohn

Through The Dunes

Time
does harvest
courage that burns
life's torch… Take a clue
feel the warmth, hearing your
own tones; embrace its consensus
be not afraid, but tremble as a humble
life. Be not fearful of any hesitant dreams.
Your emotions cannot thrill your hope; for
doubt stands just outside heaven's gate.
There it surrounds you, dancing amidst
your yearnings, sparking endearment's
enchanting sources, in that oasis within all
of life's deserts; awaiting your tender heart's
throb… Fly on the edge of your cravings, for
within time's mirror these glow and laugh
back at those eyes twinkling where fresh
green emerging rushes grow. Weather
on the flowering final heartbeat of your
existence and allow your psyche to be
seen, and opened from within. Then
allow your self to glance through the
throng of souls stood before you. Why
delay? Take command of your ‘sign.' You
want, you give, you stride across the earthly
seas laughingly treading backwards, throwing
your soul onto the shores to stand before them
that deny your position, and in front of these
multitudes of miscreants you strongly
stroll to the only path remaining
leading the way for all of humanity
to see and follow you to the one road
running out of and through the dunes…
