Through The Mask Poem by Geyora Benmorraie

Through The Mask

Rating: 5.0

Through the mask you wear,
I can see your eyes.
Sometime - for a second or more,
Deepest thoughts come into sight.

That's how you guarded these walls,
Fortify yourself all your life.
Only you know the truth,
Keeping it locked in the safe of time.

There are times when the mask falls,
Bluntly reviles the pain.
Just as you thought their are gone,
They are coming again.

The barriers you have founded,
Left within.
Abandoned around your heart
Like the minefield they remain.

The gate keepers, Standing shocked.
With the questions, In their mind.
Are you the one -that this border will cross?
And your day, will it arrive?

Nice poetic expressions. I like it! Thanks, Geyora, for the visualization of the innermost areas, that we as humans, instinctly, by pain, learn behaviors to protect. When we grow, it's hard to let those barriers go that don't serve us or our love anymore. Gio
