Through Thorn-Laden Bushes Poem by Mohammad Younus

Through Thorn-Laden Bushes

Through thorn-laden bushes,
the winding trail persists,
disappearing into peaks veiled in mist.
The stones beneath my weary feet grow cold,
each step a testament to the weight of the journey,
while the distant peaks stand untamed,
calling from the shadows of time.

The heights, steep and unforgiving,
whisper truths only the brave can hear—
that the path was never meant to be easy,
nor the way free from sorrow.
But still, the peaks, in their silent majesty,
invite me to climb,
to rise beyond the jagged rocks and endless fog.

The wind speaks in riddles,
and the air is thick with the scent of ancient wisdom,
guiding me further into the unknown.
I tread not for glory or reward,
but for the truth that waits at the summit,
in the light of a dawn not yet seen.

With each step, I leave behind my doubts,
for the path itself, though harsh,
is the teacher.
The mountain does not promise ease,
but it beckons those who seek the higher truth,
where the soul can stretch beyond its limits
and the heart can find its true place of peace.

And so I climb,
not for the peak, but for what lies beyond it,
where the untamed nafs surrenders
to the boundless light of the divine.
