Tickle my ear
To what I want to hear,
Which will bring me cheer
With no worries or fear.
Tell me of no sin
Again and again,
And how I'm the best of all men
Then my heart you will win.
Tickle my ear
When you stand near,
And always be a dear
Then I'll have a great year.
Tell me of good news
Not of trouble or hate or boos,
Agree with my views
Then joyfully at night I'll snooze.
Tickle my ear
Doesn't ever bring a tear,
Doesn't ever bring a jeer
And won't make me feel drear.
Tell me of goodness teacher
Cheer me on from the bleacher
Don't be a condemning creature
Be the Devil's preacher.
