Till The Dawn Of The Light Poem by Dennis Go

Till The Dawn Of The Light

Wake me till the dawn of the light!
Dying may be the last thing there is to be
As departed souls attach themselves free.
Touch the night as I see my soul fading
In windows barred by midnight's closure.

I see someone beside me whimpering for life...
Gasping the corners of his nostrils for air...

The living, shattered by death's embrace
Scalds in a throne where the dead have been.
Sinful visions growing amidst the thoughts
The fires grew so strong it never cease.

Aloft burning crosses the crow comes along
Taking the burden off a tired life.
A troubled mind searches on and on for heaven
Or hell's bounty shall take life its pride.

I, alive; a living, soon will pass on
To gates of time, onward millenniums.
The body will leave, once; and search endlessly -
Terrestrial fields and spiritual fantasies -
And see forth the vast aura of hatred and strife
Swarming the world in senseless demise.

How great thou art, dead, better than the living;
Where pain and suffering's no longer felt,
Anxiety and sinfulness no longer dealt.
Time will come when I see the dying
Trying hard, fighting for a decaying life.
Tears will see me mourning for a departed
Though the dead be freed from a painful life.
