Till We Meet Again Poem by Carike Klokow

Till We Meet Again

For so long you've been by my side
whatever i wanted you would decide
Always a strong hand to help me along
when everything else felt so wrong

The screams, the jeers and then the smiles
the long roads ahead the endless miles
The walks we took, the roads we ran
the fish you caught, the songs you sang
The hugs you gave, that tender touch
the love you had was just to much
For the Lord needed an angel like you
to share his love with the scared and blue

These are all things i ll miss while i say goodbye
and i wish i could have that last kiss
and not sit here and cry...

I wish for just one more day
just to say the things i want to say
But i know your happy way up there
i'm only scared because i care.

Up in heaven is where you are
high above amongst the stars
Smiling at me everyday
and then i hear you say......

My child, my love dont cry no more
to have his love is what i died for
This body of mine the Lord did save
now forgive him and be brave

To forgive is done, to forget insanity
my dad you've always been my vanity
But to lie this body down in grief
is the only thing i can achieve

Standing crying by your grave
just one hug is what i crave
For a heart so bitter in misbelief
is what your death did achieve

Now pray, oh lord i understand
no matter how i miss that hand
You've made me see so clearly now
infront of you we all will bow

For my Dad is no more gray
a sculpture his face made of clay
His body a temple in which we can see
that thanks to your love he can now be free.

*to a friend who's father passed away*
