Oh Time!
Foolish are all those
Who blindly trust you
Oh Time!
At nothin good are you
Save that you turn it all into lies
You stroked my hair of a child
And turned the truest smile on my lips
But now that I am on the twigs of life
Wind -all directions -blows and whips
You overlook me, Ooo you Time
You slay a man's delight and what a crime!
I tumbled, I fell, and rose to your stainless knife
You struck me, you slapped and then stabbed
Oh Time!
Gone by, those days -gone!
When I used to revel and rejoice
Gone by those clever clouds
That in the sky had a say and a voice
They made me the whitest rabbits and bears
I wish I could turn the clock- relive those years!
Oh Time!
Barefooted, who like me ran?
All in mud under rain and no one cares
Ran ran the dream I used to be ran
After one dogged partridge 'n two baby hares
Only the homecoming of the Sun
Would remind me of home and Mum
A forgetful fool yet of life full
Now age is swishing away the tail of days
The ship of life keeps moving beyond all bays
Oh Time!
Why have you blown those candles out
Those two roses off her cheeks
You that have grown them right there
Robbed themthrough your cracks and leaks!
You foe why the heck have you driven her out
Far away out sight, out of light?
I sob and can't help but burst into sobbing
You too caused her to sob
As speechless as a door knob
What could be her healing?
Oh Time!
Foolish are all those
Who wait for tomorrow
To stop being morose
And find remedy for their Sorrow
If I had one day to be anything
I would be bars to imprison your wing
And to your end, I'd this poem sing!
