Time Poem by Don Pengilly

Time

Time seems to pass one by
April, May June, July
Springtime summer autumn to
Winter comes with feelings blue

Days so short, sometimes cold
As winter comes with shouts so bold
Rain like broom sticks tumble straight
As darkness falls its getting late

Time draws near to Christmas feast
Time to slaughter Christmas beast
To put upon our tables bare
Until its filled with Christmas fare

New year comes with such haste
New beginnings time is basted
Looking forward days grow long
And bird look out and sing their song

Spring seems closer now and bright
As future nears the summers light
And evenings draw a wider scope
The thought of summer warmth bring hope

It’s here that time needs here to slow
Our thoughts now far from winters snow
To bask in natures warming glow
