Time Poem by Cody Allan Turner

Time

My time, you are an oncoming train!
Awakened by your lingering stay
My time, you are an approaching plane!
Grant me life but one more day.

This time, is no repetition of the last
Make it the moment of all birth!
This time, has no future and has no past
If this be the only moment on earth!

Our time lives as long as it is held
And what we leave behind will grow
Let us create a heaven in our hell
Our time runs as the wind does blow.

Time, you immovable army! You device of deception!
Welcome time’s constant arrival
Accept its’ fair but limiting power
Be glad that you have any time!
Be thankful for every hour.

Wonderfully expressed. Time is the greatest friend as well as the greatest foe of human being. It never stops for anyone whether it is an emperor or a beggar. We can't store time. So we must take time by forelock. Your poem is good in imagery and style. Though simple yet deep. A poignant write indeed.
