Time Alone Poem by Gail Grierson

Time Alone

You never really noticed
How much time I spent alone;
The countless hours shopping
Or talking on the phone.

You spent so much time working
Had so little time for me;
The money was too tempting
To pass up, I do agree.

And so you worked long hours,
The years slipped quickly by;
As time went on we grew apart
Like strangers, you and I.

Now there’s little left in common,
It’s sad, I have to say;
We could have walked together
But each went a separate way.
