Time And The Road Poem by Richard Trembath

Time And The Road

Too short the time, too long the road
We should have travelled long ago,
But that was in another time
Before our paths crossed, yours and mine,
Both going on our separate ways
Pursuing dreams of other days.
Our journeys took us far away
But memories never left that day,
And now, our lives thrown far apart,
We, longing, share each other's heart
But anchored, each, by life's decrees
We cling to hopes as swift time flees,
And still we know each passing day
Sees love's fulfilment fade away
Our hearts o'erburdened with life's load
Too short the time, too long the road.
