Time Will Heal Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Time Will Heal

I have concerns that stretch beyond my reach
Thoughts and hopes extend... Am I here to teach?
Dear grand-child, I am here if you need to talk
I will not turn my back on you and take a long walk

Life can be complicated when facing the unknown
You have choices to make now that you have grown
I find that when we get together and conversation starts
Inner feelings rise to the surface...dealing with the heart

What do I tell you... can my words lift and steer?
I can relate and listen...sometimes it pains me to hear
how broken love can bring tears to your saddened eyes
I keep an open mind... I cannot resolve...I’m not that wise

I am reminded of when I was your age... when emotions
dropped and flattened... There are no magic potions
that can heal and cure... sharing feelings might help relieve
You can confide in me... I know you’ll be okay if you believe

Believe in yourself and keep your faith...you will survive
Put away the photos that remind... take a deep breath... revive
The future may not seem bright just now... but it will rally
Life has a way of improving if you trust... this is not the finale
