Recalling times of comfort which
I warmly would embrace,
My growth, my faith, could not be measured
On the scales of grace.
Yet during times of deep distress
From which I tried to flee,
I failed to see the purpose that
The Father planned for me.
For during stressful times,
I could not see His main desire:
To fashion me and mold me with
His hammer, anvil, fire.
Yet past those times of anguish,
He has helped me understand
That He was present in my trials
While holding fast my hand.
So, in those times when Light seems lost,
Through the journey that you're on,
Trust God to lead the way out of
The darkness unto dawn.
Hear me when I call, O God of my righteousness: thou hast enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy upon me, and hear my prayer. Psalm 4: 1
