It's times like these that try mens' souls,
that give us drive, intiative, motive.
It's times like these that make us cry,
that make us sad, depressed, and suicidal.
It's times like these that make us hope,
that give us faith, promise, perseverance.
It's times like these that make us think,
that make us wonder, question, imagine.
It's times like these that make us protest,
that make us stand up, listen in, and speak out.
It's times like these that make us confident,
that make us cool, calm, and collected.
It's times like these that make us question our religion,
that make us ask who or what is out there.
It's times like these that make us love,
that make us care, understand, and support.
It's times like these where we feel like the end is near,
today is the day; it's your life; don't let it pass you by
because you never know when you're living your last days.
