....'tis Why....We Believe Poem by James B. Earley

....'tis Why....We Believe

...The America we hold
Admittedly we stole...
Frightening the possibilities
...Subservient our roles

At the crossroads...our souls

Binged and unhinged
...Common in cause
Misfits and nitwits...
And sundered other flaws

....All along it's been in us
'Twas our social mainstays
Wasn't sudden transitioning
Our becoming this way

Bigots and idiots
Always we've been
Uneducated fixated
Some brilliant...now then

Frightening the possibilities
...Subservient our roles
The America we hold
....Admittedly we stole

At the crossroads...our souls

'Tis why....perhaps we believe

In this...the "abominable critter"
...That pervasive bullshitter

At the crossroads...our souls

....'Tis why....we believe
