Titans, Gods & Heroes Poem by Mason Maestro

Titans, Gods & Heroes

The tides don't control the sea
The stars don't dictate you or me
How divine races slip out of hand
How Earth gave birth and branch
No two deities came out the same hand
Elements and gods as Chaos planned
For reason or purpose we don't understand

How infinite is space?
And which god decides your fate?
Earth and Sky and Aphrodite
Phorcis and Ceto and Poseidon's might
Zeus and Atlas, power surreal
Heracles for Hydra, the Achilles heel

How to avoid defeat
Where truth and fiction meet
Titans, gods and heroes centrally Greek
Their sculptures will break down into sand
History not turned out as planned
For reason or purpose we don't understand
