To A Good Red Wine Poem by Jessie Pengilly

To A Good Red Wine

Slowly breathe in -
Intoxicate your lungs
Exhale, as if a thick Cuban cigar

Gently watch as he stirs
whilst your hand moves him round and round
then let your lips tilt to draw him in.

The taste will languish your tongue -
until you swallow...

Then watch the tears curve around
To sink back down...

This is a wine of the God's
not the ale of Adam but the drink of Kings
