To Be Happy Poem by Francis Duggan

To Be Happy

We live in the now and time is ticking on
And tomorrow will dawn and yesterday has gone
The years do go quickly beyond our physical prime
There is no holding back the tireless hands of time
It is true about time it does weaken the strong
Those who do tell you different have got it all wrong
The victims of time in cemeteries lay
Of them it can be said they did have their day
Does not matter if we are buried or cremated and to ashes does burn
We are part of Nature and in some form to her will return
No matter what your achievements on one thing you can depend
That your journey in life will come to an end
But if you do good things by others good things will come to you
And live to be happy this the best you can do.
