To Be Known, Or Not
A star, no matter how quiet
has a name
I think I'm like that
spilling my beams onto the world-
a photo here, a poem there
My friend from high school
posted a close-up of a pearl necklace
as her on-line profile
Not even a pet
but a pearl necklace
I can never settle
for that kind of anonymity
that kind of dimming
of my shine
