Flawed Beauty Poem by Jackie Chou

Flawed Beauty

My beauty is eyes that require thick spectacles
My beauty is full cheeks like a gibbous moon
My beauty is the B that never made it to A
My beauty is a name on the list of those
not called back for another audition
My beauty is breasts that never developed fully
My beauty is getting eliminated in the first round
of a pageant contest
My beauty is not being tall or slim enough
My beauty is the essay that didn't even win
an honorable mention
My beauty is the employee fired
after the probation period
My beauty is the applicant not chosen
among only two candidates
My beauty is loving all the beauty above

Nicely expressed thoughts and feelings, very heartfelt with strong emotions. An interesting piece of poetry written with conviction.
