To Be Sentenced Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

To Be Sentenced

The power beyond your imagination and,
The power beyond your love;
But no one can tame the tongue!
And if the sins within us were to be sentenced to death,
Who might have known the best out of us?
I am sitting on a black stone and,
I am waiting for Elath my lover;
Because the first cut is the deepest! !

The cherished fruits of a tree are useless until,
It falls to the ground and to be picked up and sucked by someone;
But this world is still with you until you cannot use it again,
And it will be picked up one day and be sucked by someone!
For i am a woman in love,
And this question is still with you until you cannot accept it;
But if you cannot contain the answer then,
I am ready to show you the way to my house.
