To Cross The Line Poem by Kaitlyn Leighsomething

To Cross The Line

They say, 'Once you've crossed the line,
You can never go back.'
But what if you do your best
To get your life back on track?

A girl with much freedom,
Spread her wings to fly.
The loss of her innocence,
Her precious treasure, gone, she can't deny.

With little judgement,
She broke her mother's heart.
Totally unaware of the inevitable act,
Her once-good conscience would depart.

Repentance was the only way.
The girl seemed sorry she was caught,
'But was she sorry for what she'd done? '
Her mother always thought.

The tears that fell from her face,
Her mother questioned their sincerity
The girl pleaded for faith in her honesty
Should she be trusted after all this irresponsibility?

In her heart she knew her actions were wrong
But why did she take it so lightly?
Her mother prayed that maybe her daughter might
Feel her heart-ache and see more brightly.

The things the girl did made her realize
The pain she had caused was not okay.
So she repented and promised
To never again break the hearts of many 'til the last of her days.

Her mother's forgiving heart
Let the girl back in
And now She has a promise to keep
'To never break her heart again.'
