To Drift Among The Clouds Poem by Alison Smith

To Drift Among The Clouds

To drift among the clouds
Meeting fellow travellers
Discussing the choices in life
Laughing at what fun they will have.

Will they travel back to earth
Surrounded by friends
Leaving their mark upon the land
Hail crashing to the ground

Maybe they will float back
Sensing the quiet as they fall
Upon the nose of the excited child
As quiet as snow

Will they refresh the river
Or fall into the ocean
Quench the dried field
Or make music where they land

Maybe they will unite
Like in a storm
With much thunder and lightning
Damaging the world to be free

The raindropp dreamt
Of how great his life would be...
