To Everything There Comes An End - Poem by Shalom Freedman

To Every thing there comes an end
We understand and reconcile ourselves to this
When we know it will happen sometime in the vague future
But when it approaches
When it is near now
When it is happening now
Grief and Fear and Anxiety and Panic
Work overtime
And we try anything and everything to deny it
And we do not know what do
And are afraid.
