To: Hilary Poem by Hannah Anderson

To: Hilary

I hide my face from you
Not wanting you to know
About everything I feel inside
For I know I’ve sunk too low

You’re the one who cares
But please just let me go
I’m not sure any longer
What it is I know

I know that I’m losing
At this thing I call life
And I know I’m in love
With the blade of a knife

I know I’ll fail you
Cuz I just can’t hold
Onto this life
That has become so cold

I know I’ll be forgotten
Though maybe not by you
For when the world turned it’s back
You alone were true

I know I’ll miss you most
If I feel a thing
When I’m finally free
Won’t you sing?

Sing me a song of memory
And tell me I did right
Though I know I’m wrong
Please won’t you hold me tight?
