To Live Is Jesus To Die Is Him Poem by Christen Kuikoua

To Live Is Jesus To Die Is Him

To live is Jesus
not merely to breathe,
but to carry His name
in every step beneath my feet.

To live is to surrender
when my heart wants control,
to choose His will above my comfort,
and let Him possess my soul.

I will not bow to approval,
nor tremble before the crowd;
for what is the praise of people
when I can make my Savior proud?

Let them misunderstand me,
let their voices rise and fall;
I would rather stand with Jesus
than be applauded by them all.

For Christ is my life,
and Christ is my gain;
whether through joy or through suffering,
His presence remains.

If I live, let me live for Him.
If I serve, let me serve His throne.
If I speak, let His truth be heard.
If I walk, let His footsteps be known.

And if one day my earthly breath
is taken from my chest,
I will not call it the end
I will call it entering His rest.

For to live is Jesus,
and to die is still Him.
In life, He is my purpose;
in death, He is my treasure.

So let the world keep its approval
Let its riches fade away.
I have chosen the better portion
Jesus, yesterday, today, and always.

What worth is a life
if Christ is left outside?
What worth are millions
when eternity is denied?

So whether I live or whether I die,
one confession will remain:
Christ is my life.
Christ is my hope.
Christ is my beginning.
Christ is my end.

To live is Jesus
to die is still Him.
