To My Indigenous Family Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

To My Indigenous Family

To my Indigenous family

My great brothers and sisters
-my cousins, aunts, uncles
-I have a request
-too simple
-already feel humbled

In war-torn areas, I have been
-a rebel and seeker of my rights
-I have been
-with friends, family, relatives
-and colleagues

Mountain-firm, united, we stood
-we applied manifest
-like the one from Marx and Engels
-all the way to the end
-gained success

Soon-after divided
-each of us walked a way
-turned orphan our success

While we fought among us
-a thief came stole our possession

I beg you,
-kiss your hands and your feet
-please, please, please, please
-consider, value this
-do not let enemy
-chest forward and head up
-stand say:
- "They never deserved it…"
-behave wise…that is all…
