To Our Dear Daddy (On His 105th Birth Anniversary) Poem by Dr John Celes

He's gone to live with God eternally!
Our loving earthly father heavenly;
He slogged all life and lived in piety;
A versatile man of humility.

An unforgettable man erudite;
He spoke about the scriptures with all might;
He toiled by day and burnt the oil mid-night;
He always did whatever seemed aright.

A man of conscience educated well;
A man who humbled before God, all tell;
His principles good, he would never sell;
A soul which went through strife and earthly hell!

A loving husband, dutiful he was;
His fortitude was much for Jesus boss;
He fought for justice, equality's cause;
His death left family members shocked by loss.

Today is his birth anniversary;
His few friends at times turned adversary;
He prayed fervently holy rosary;
Under street-lamp began his nursery!

A public speaker of reputation;
He spent no time to get information;
He worked with zeal for world's reformation;
He prayed a lot for all and his nation.

His soul is resting in eternal light;
He heeded conscience but did not fight;
In days of youth, he was a handsome sight;
A thinker wise, he was by day and night!

His children miss their loving dad this day;
May God take him to His bosom, we pray;
We emulate his example and way;
His love and care, we can never repay!
