To Pee Or Not To Pee? Poem by Luke Easter

To Pee Or Not To Pee?

Sixty hours and sometimes eighty at my peak,
I seldom ever work a regular forty-hour week,
My family together might I rarely get to see,
Neither can I relax just in case I have to pee.

Now, don't get me wrong I'm not getting high,
Because a cold six-pak of brew will get me by,
However, should I get called in on my off day,
As just one surprise test could piss it all away.

I am not being selfish, the good book says share,
Understanding, only by grace I'm not on welfare,
Who gets what, when, how, why or even where?
Is of no real concern because I really don't care.

I'm up hours before sunrise and that is no joke,
1/3 of the way through Pookie grabs the remote,
While Jolene makes a mad dash to the mailbox,
Grandpa's sipping Wild Irish Rose on the rocks.

High in the hills, a click on the truck key fob,
In the F-150 go Sara, Lucy and Billy-Joe-Bob,
Sam's Club, Burger King, gas, what the heck,
No mailman to wait on, a direct deposit check.

Understand this is not criticizing, I'm just asking why?
Rules are not as stringent for those we help to get by?
As William Shakespeare had his, "To be or not to be? "
So now our 21st Century has, "To Pee Or Not To Pee? "
