She told me that she wanted to be a poet
I said, "great! , "but first show it",
Write down about a verse or two
Tell the world what you've seen, or been through,
Then unto me and the world bestow it.
Write your true and unquestionably feelings
Let those words become your spiritual healings,
Write down what you cannot speak
Never ever feel frightened or ever weak,
Then you'll feel better in all of your life's dealings.
I told her to write of her, or them, or even of us
Then finally let the world take notice,
Paint your true masterpiece with your words
But, not only of flowers, trees and birds,
Then my girl, you will become a poetess.
