poem 311 To sleep
And so I lay me down again
to sleep inside my bed,
light covering, (it's Summer time)
pillow under head.
Night light gently glowing
eyes that feel like lead,
soon I will be going
prayers all done and said.
I hear the Owl, out hooting
the Blackbird, he sings still,
I think I hear a flitting bat
but that, against my will.
Then soon a silence slowly falls
and to my bed does creep,
the day is dead, to night I'm wed,
so I just go to sleep.
